Mentors and Advisor:

John Wu

Mentor

As president and CEO of extreme V, Inc, John Wu is a seasoned global business veteran, with a mission to change and improve people’s quality of health – Feel Better…Live better.

For more than a decade under the extreme V brand, John has launched over 30 product programs shipping to over 100 countries worldwide thru Amazon, extremeV.com, and distribution partners.

John was instilled with the spirit of entrepreneurship and made his first dollar when he was 10 years old.  Before he formed his own company, John was VP of Operations for a joint venture company under EDS, where he managed 180+ consulting companies and 860 indirect material suppliers.

John has a Master Degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, minoring in math.

 

Rachel Wang

Mentor

Rachel is a licensed CPA and received her MBA degree from the University of Illinois with a focus on Accounting and Finance.

Rachel has more than ten years of tax experience, including working at global accounting firms PricewaterhouseCoopers and Ernst & Young. Rachel has significant experience advising multinationals on (amongst other things) tax planning and reporting, entity formation, restructuring, cross‐ border mergers and acquisitions, financial due diligence and inbound and outbound investment.

Rachel regularly acts for multinationals in Asia Pacific and Europe on inbound US investment. Her clients operate in a wide array of industries including automotive, real estate, construction, education, distribution and wholesale.

Rachel’s tax practice primarily includes:
• International regulatory compliance for both U.S. outbound and inbound investments • Transaction support for cross‐border mergers and acquisitions including financial due diligence, entity formation, liquidation, etc. • International tax structuring, planning and advisory • Business planning

 

Dr. Joy Jiang

Mentor

Dr. Joy Ruihua Jiang teaches and does research in strategy and international business at Oakland University. She is currently working on two research programs. One investigates determinants, outcomes and contextual factors associated with multinational corporations’ foreign expansion paths. The other looks at firms’ cooperative strategy, focusing on alliance portfolio management for resource and business development. Dr. Jiang got her MBA in Finance from Baruch College in New York City and Ph.D. in International/Strategic Management from Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario, Canada.

Teaching Interest:

International Business, Strategic Management, International Entrepreneurship

Research Interest:

cooperative strategy, alliance portfolio management, FDI strategy and management, pace of foreign expansion, multinational enterprises in China

Sean Feng

Advisor

Sean Feng started his investment career on Wall Street after receiving an MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurship from the University of Chicago. He has since worked as a portfolio manager and a global asset allocator at several investment firms.

Sean is currently an Investment Director at the Kresge Foundation, a national foundation that works to expand opportunities in America’s cities through grantmaking and social investing. As a member of Kresge’s senior investment team, Sean and his colleagues manage the foundation’s $3.6 billion portfolio.

Sean has recently been named a Top 30 Foundation Rising Star by Trusted Insight, the world’s largest network of institutional investors, for two consecutive years.
