Come and meet mBot, a friendly entry-level robot for every child!
mBot, made by Makeblock, is a low cost, easy-to-run robot kit for kids to get hands-on experience about graphical programming, electronics, robotics. It is an all-in-one solution for robotics learning and designed for STEM education.The mechanical body of the mBot is compatible with the most Lego parts.
The heart of the mBot, mCore is a powerful Arduino based microcontroller that can do many things without soldering or breadboarding.
This class is more advanced compare to the beginning level. Students with previous experience of Scratch, App Inventor, Arduino, or Robotics is preferred. In addition to the mBot basic projects, students will use Variety gizmos add-on pack and added sensors to build different robots and learn different examples of motion control. Students can also assemble it into more forms on their own idea, and explore more possibilities.
Project 1: Antenna Car A robot car that can detect obstacle through its two micro switches.
Project 2: Traffic Gate Traffic gate, the gate would be closed when the light turns red, and the gate would be opened when it turns green.
Project 3: Dancing Cat Dancing cat dances with music, waving little claw, calling you home.
Project 4: Head-Shaking Cat Looking around for you with its big eyes. Cute, lively and cheerful.
Project5 : Light-Emitting Cat A nice cat brightens up your life. The light pierces the darkness; it’s brighter in the sun.
Project 6: Timer The timer can record the time, and it can be used as the handle of mBlock stage.
The mBot Robotic kit enables students to realize that learning to code empowers them with the ability to physically manipulate and control the world around them.
