2023 Summer - Math Kangaroo

Teacher Introductions:

Hello! My name is Michelle Chen, and I am very excited to be the main teacher for the Math Kangaroo class. I am 16 years old and a rising junior at Cranbrook. Since middle school, math has been my favorite subject. I have always participated in clubs like Mathcounts in middle school, and the highschool math club. Last year, I helped the math club organize a tutoring program where more advanced math students can share their knowledge with others, in topics such as the PSAT and some final exams. Doing this for my school really helped me improve my leadership, and my ability to communicate. It also made me realize my love and passion towards teaching others, which I am excited to continue doing here at mYe. In my freetime, I love playing with my dog, baking, and playing tennis!

Hi! My name is Michael Chen and I am the teaching assistant for this Math Kangaroo class. I am a rising 7th grader at the Cranbrook Boys Middle School and I am so excited to be helping out with this class! Math Kangaroo is one of my favorite competitions, as I have competed and won top prizes in the past few years. I also am a part of Cranbrook’s Mathcounts team, helping my team get to states. In my freetime, I like to play video games, play tennis, and read!
