Would you like your young artists to have an opportunity to further discover their inner artist by expressing their imagination?
This 4-day workshops help polish students sketching skills through portrait drawing. The students will learn techniques like proportions, shading and texture. By the end of the course, the young artists will use their creative and imaginary freedom to develop their own characters in their personal styles.
Day 1 - Portrait Proportion 1: Humans and Disney Characters
Day 2 - Portrait Proportion 2: Facial Features
Day 3 - Shading and Texture Techniques: How to add value and perspective to your piece
Day 4 - Final Project: Create a Character Using the Above Techniques
- Pencils (Sharpened)
- Sketch Book or Plain White Paper
- Paper Art Blenders or Q-tips (used to shade)
Amy Amy is a freshman in Northville High School. She has participated in drawing lessons every week ever since she was 5 years old. During this time, she discovered her passion for traditional art and has gained knowledge of several tips and tricks. Additionally, Amy has won numerous awards for her art in well-known art competitions such as the Duck Stamp Contest hosted by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Organization.
Audrey SchreckAudrey is a rising senior and an active member of Northville High School Art Club. All her life, she has loved art, especially sketching. This passion led to her enrolling in a multitude of art classes. In doing so, she has garnered a more in-depth understanding of many different techniques, history, as well as types of visual media. Currently, Audrey’s drawings Burnt Out and Lazy Sunday are displaying at Northville Art House’s NPS Virtual Art Exhibition and featured in the Exhibition’s poster and newsletter.
